Sensar, located in Rijswijk, uses satellite-based InSAR (Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar). These radar signals are used to measure tiny movements of the Earth’s surface, such as sinking ground, shifting infrastructure, or slow landslides. Sensar processes and visualizes that data so cities, engineers, or infrastructure owners can spot early signs of structural or ground problems; often before they are visible to the eye.

Sensar will join the Itility Group as part of the Earth Observation Hub - consisting of eLEAF, NEO and 52impact. Through this, Sensar will be able to accelerate faster to anticipate the rapidly growing demand of the industry for detection of millimeter-scale movements. The shared knowledge of earth observation techniques will speed up detecting subtle environmental changes to manage infrastructure even more proactively and effectively. Supported by the Itility Group, Sensar can further scale its services and deploy this across the globe to support infrastructure owners, local governments, water authorities, and housing companies.

Arjan Tabak, managing director Sensar: “At Sensar, our mission is to turn satellite data into meaningful insights that support a more sustainable and resilient planet. That’s why I’m thrilled to see our team of geo-specialists teaming up with the Earth Observation Hub experts. Looking forward to joining forces with this team of truly hands-on specialists, to expand the impact of earth observation and empower smarter decision-making on the ground.”

Peter Schepers, CEO Itility Group: “We’re excited to work side by side with Sensar in the fascinating field of Earth Observation and satellite-based ground monitoring.”

Reinier Oost, director of technology Sensar: “We’re seeing radar technology applications entering a steep growth curve. To take the next step, we were looking for a partner who could accelerate that growth from multiple angles - without compromising our unique identity as a specialist in this field. This partnership allows us to scale further and unlock new opportunities. A true case of 1 + 1 = 3.”

Sensar uses radar satellite technology (InSAR) to measure ground movement and displacements of infrastructure over time, with millimeter precision. Sensar enables its clients to anticipate the risks of subsidence and ground movement, allowing them to make safe and responsible choices, and thereby contributing to the safety, accessibility and livability of our environment. Sensar distinguishes itself through quality, co-creation and specific customer solutions – to deliver a product that is suited to your specific problem and that can be used straight away, without extensive knowledge of satellite technology.
